The Jury of the World.Report Award 2019 unanimously assigns the following awards to:

  • Darcy Padilla for the reportage Dreamers in the Master Award section. The reportage will be exhibited in the next edition of the Festival of Ethical Photography in the presence of the photographer, who will receive 5,000 Euros, before taxes, as a prize;
  • Senthil Kumaran Rajendran for the reportage Boundaries: Human and Tiger Conflict in the Spot Light Award section. The reportage will be exhibited in the next edition of the Festival of Ethical Photography in the presence of the photographer, who will receive 2,500 Euros, before taxes, as a prize;
  • Emile Ducke for the reportage Diagnosis in the Short Story Award section. The reportage will be exhibited in the next edition of the Festival of Ethical Photography in the presence of the photographer, who will receive 1,500 Euros, before taxes, as a prize;
  • Arne Piepke for the reportage Glaube, Sitte, Heimat in the Student Award section. The reportage will be exhibited in the next edition of the Festival of Ethical Photography in the presence of the photographer, who will receive 1,000 Euros, before taxes, as a prize.
  • Mariano Silletti, for the reportage Serra Maggiore in the World Italy Award section. The reportage will be exhibited in the next edition of the Festival of Ethical Photography in the presence of the photographer, who will receive 1,500 Euros, before taxes, as a prize.

For the Nonprofit Award section:

  • First Nonprofit organization: EMERGENCY for the reportage Zakhem – When War Comes HomeThe reportage will be exhibited in the next Edition of the Festival of Ethical Photography in the presence of the Non-Profit organization, which will receive 2,000 Euros, before taxes, as a prize;
  • Second Nonprofit organization: Médecins du Monde for the reportage Girls Should Run their Future: Unwanted Pregnancies among Adolescent Girls in Ivory CoastThe reportage will be exhibited in the next Edition of the Festival of Ethical Photography in the presence of the Non-Profit organization, which will have covered the printing costs as prize;
  • Third Nonprofit organization: Positive Change Can Happen for the reportage Living on a Dollar a Day: The Lives and Faces of the World’s Poor. The reportage will be exhibited in the next Edition of the Festival of Ethical Photography in the presence of the Non-Profit organization, which will have covered the printing costs as prize.

For the Single Shot Award  – To Be, To Think, To Act Positively:

  • Winner: Giulia Frigieri. The image will be exhibited in the next Edition of the Festival of Ethical Photography in the presence of the photographer, who will receive 1,000 Euros, before taxes, as a prize;
  • Special Mention to Jo-Anne McArthur. The image will be exhibited in the next Edition of the Festival of Ethical Photography.

Moreover, the top 30 finalists of this section will have their photos exhibited during the 2019 Edition of the Festival of Ethical Photography.

The reportages submitted to the Master Award, Spotlight Award, Short Story Award, Student Award and World Italy Award were selected during the jury session that took place on June 15th, 2019 in Lodi. The international jury was composed of:

The Nonprofit and Single Shot categories were selected by Alberto Prina and Aldo Mendichi, the coordinators of the Festival, together with the members of the Gruppo Fotografico Progetto Immagine
