THE FESTIVAL OF ETHICAL PHOTOGRAPHY HOST THE 2026 EDITION OF

This year too, the Festival della Fotografia Etica is pleased to host the World Press Photo travelling exhibition: nearly 150 images from 5 continents, selected by an international jury on the occasion of the 71st edition of the world’s most renowned photojournalism and documentary photography contest, which every year celebrates the crucial work of many professionals who shine a light on the global issues that define our contemporary world.

Lodi will be the only city in Lombardy to host a stop on its travelling tour, which will bring the exhibition to over 60 locations worldwide.

It all began in 1955, when a group of Dutch photographers organised the first edition. Since then, the initiative has grown to become the most prestigious photography contest in the world and the most visited photojournalism exhibition.

The award-winning works were selected from 57,376 images submitted by 3,747 photographers from 141 countries around the world: these are projects carried out independently or on behalf of the world’s leading international media outlets, such as The New York Times, Associated Press, TIME, Agence France Presse and NPR.

The World Press Photo exhibition will be featured in the rich official programme of the Festival della Fotografia Etica di Lodi, in its seventeenth edition, which will take place from 26 September to 25 October 2026. An international event with the presence of over 80 photographers, including the World Press Photo winners, the festival will once again tell the story of our rapidly changing world, in which photography freezes the moment to help us understand the causes and effects of contemporary global challenges.
